Urban Garden
A tiny urban lot. An active family. Dreams of growing herbs and vegetables together, running and tumbling in grass, unwinding outside with a glass of wine at the end of the day. To make these seemingly incongruent activities mesh into a coherent whole, we created a variety of outdoor rooms along a narrow lot-line walk. Strong curvilinear shapes, carefully placed trees and shrubs, and artfully-repeated materials create a backyard that appears much larger than it actually is and lets this family get more out of their property than they ever thought possible.
